## Description

**OX Sync App** is a native Android application designed for seamless synchronization of your OX App Suite calendar, contacts, and tasks directly with your mobile device. It integrates effortlessly with the default Android calendar and contacts apps, offering support for private, shared, and public calendars, alongside advanced features such as recurring appointments, timezone handling, and color synchronization.

Please note that support for the OX Sync App on Android will be discontinued on December 31, 2025. Users are encouraged to visit the official OXpedia page for alternative synchronization options. The app requires a valid OX App Suite account to operate and is available for white-labeling and rebranding by interested partners.

## Review summary

Users appreciate the app's capability to sync tasks and calendars effectively, especially shared public calendars. However, recurring tasks lack full support and syncing of contacts is unreliable or causes data loss. Multiple users report issues with the tasks widget becoming unusable, connectivity problems with custom or self-hosted servers, and app crashes. The interface is sometimes unclear, which complicates configuration and troubleshooting. Overall, while useful, the app has persistent syncing and usability problems that affect user experience.

### Pros

- Useful for syncing tasks and calendars, including shared public calendars.
- Calendar sync generally works well for many users.
- Has been reliable for some users in the past and appreciated for its data synchronization capabilities.
- Interface is considered nice and easy to use by some users.

### Cons

- Tasks widget frequently stops working or becomes unusable (e.g., does not open tasks when clicked).
- Recurring task options are limited and do not sync properly with the web interface.
- Syncing contacts is problematic or does not work; contact sync issues can cause data loss.
- Connectivity and server configuration issues, including difficulty connecting to own OX App Suite or self-hosted servers, and inability to manually select or find provider in the app.
- The app crashes on some devices and displays incomplete or blank interface screens without information, making troubleshooting difficult.
