AlReader is a feature-rich Chrome extension designed for comfortable reading of fiction books in numerous formats including fb2, epub (DRM-free), mobi, doc, docx, txt, and more. It supports archives (ZIP, GZ), various encoding sets, and offers text-to-speech functionality with call interruption support. Users can access network libraries via OPDS, manage a local library with sorting by authors, genres, and publication years.

The extension provides advanced customization including multiple profiles with independent font, color, brightness, and gamma settings, one- and two-page views automatically adapting in landscape, and configurable display styles for headings and citations.
