Hyke

Hyke tracks and records your hikes and shows them on a Google Maps display. It tells you your distance and time traveled as well as your current altitude and average speed. It plots altitude and hiking speed vs time or distance. It can help guide you by displaying previously recorded hikes or imported track (.gpx) files.

- Basic Hiking: Open the app and your current location is displayed on a map. Press the start button to start recording your hike.
- View graphs of altitude and speed vs time or distance by going to the graphs page.
- Configure how often Hyke speaks elapsed time/distance in the Settings menu.
- Save your completed hike to local phone storage for later review.
- Upload (and later download) all your hikes to Google Drive.

- Following Hikes: Use an old recorded hike to guide your re-hike.
- You'll see the old hike on the map, as well as be able to view its altitude and speed graphs.
- See how your current hike's progress compares to the followed hike.

- Follow GPX: You can import .gpx track files, and follow them like your recordings.
- you can make these gpx files using other websites/apps or download them from other websites/apps and import them into Hyke.

- Return to Start: If you're hiking somewhere and returning along the same route, you can just use the return to start option to be guided back to your starting place.
