The gate of the old castle is barred from the inside, the market is under a decade of ivy, and the forge has been cold a long time. Nobody left in a hurry. Nobody came back.

MERGE TO REBUILD
Drag two of a thing together and get a better thing. Timber becomes beams, beams become frames, frames become the shape of a house. Eleven merge chains run eleven tiers deep, and the board is where all of it starts - generators you place, charge and level up, feeding a workbench that never quite has enough room.

RESTORE THE CASTLE, DISTRICT BY DISTRICT
This is the part other merge games leave out. What you make on the board is spent on the keep itself. Each district takes twelve visible steps to restore - clear the rubble, rehang the gates, light the forge - and every one of them changes what you are looking at. Finish the last step and the district stands restored, for good.

Six districts in Act I: the gatehouse, the market row, the orchard, the forge, the great hall and the weaving hall.

A KEEP WITH PEOPLE IN IT
Wren, the young steward who sent for you and will not say who told her to. Halvard, a master mason who has seen this stonework before. Brann at the forge. Rook on the gate, who keeps looking at the marks on the inside of the bar.

They talk as the work goes on. The story is not decoration - it is the reason the keep was empty.
