The Kinga app educates users by sending weekly safety tips to their phones that help them learn to identify warning signs as they happen. In an uncomfortable situation, the user can click on the Kinga phone call widget to receive an immediate simulated phone call. They can answer the call and use it as an excuse to leave. If the situation escalates, the user can click on the Kinga emergency text widget that automatically sends a pre-written text to their trusted contact requesting help and identifying their location. These technical solutions empower the user to change the trajectory of the encounter by giving them a tool to interrupt the situation and reach out for help.
