Spain boasts one of the world's most exceptional collections of rock art. A millennia-old legacy hidden in caves, rock shelters, and natural landscapes scattered throughout the country: from the caves of the Cantabrian coast to Levantine rock art, the Vettonian hill forts of the central Iberian Peninsula, and the megalithic cultures, all tell us how humans have inhabited this territory in the southernmost reaches of Europe for thousands of years.

However, for various reasons, many of these sites lack personalized guide services or cultural mediators to help visitors discover, interpret, and understand their immense value. Thousands of visitors arrive each year without a clear framework to grasp the art and history these places hold.

To address this need, ArtPoints was created, a network integrated into the European Rock Art Trails. This innovative project provides everyone with free video guides and resources to enjoy prehistoric art without worrying about opening hours, days, or time of year, offering an inclusive approach for all types of visitors.

53 ArtPoints located in 50 municipalities across Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Cantabria, Castile-La Mancha, Castile and León, the Valencian Community, Extremadura, La Rioja, the Basque Country, and the Region of Murcia, in an open initiative that can be easily scaled to other rock art sites.

Let's take a closer look at the information you'll find at each ArtPoint. Each one features an information beacon that identifies the rock art site and allows you to easily access all the content. Simply hold your mobile phone near the NFC tag or scan the QR code to access the website directly, or, if you prefer, download the Rock ArtPoints app.

From either option, you can access all the information about the site you are visiting.

The app and website offer free video guides with subtitles in several languages ​​and sign language. They also include easy-to-read texts for people with disabilities. In addition, you'll have access to audiovisual materials such as presentation videos, interviews with experts, and digital tracings of the rock art.

ArtPoints also offers tourist information about the municipality where the site is located: places of interest, gastronomy, local products, and accommodation recommendations, among other things. Everything to make your visit a complete experience.

The app is designed to work even offline. Ideal for natural or rural areas where there is no internet access.

With ArtPoints, anyone can enjoy rock art in an accessible, intuitive, and completely free way. A tool created to bring our history closer to the present, preserve it, and showcase its value.
