Returned books move to a tidy archive. Great for remembering what your child has already read, or for re-borrowing favourites.

Private and Offline-First
All your book data stays on your device - no account, no cloud sync, nothing uploaded. Photos and summaries are cached locally. The only network calls are the AI photo / summary requests, which are sent directly to OpenAI and not logged on any BookDue server (because there is no BookDue server).

PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED

Camera: only used when you tap "Scan with Camera" or "Scan Book". The camera is never active in the background.
Notifications: only used for the due-date reminders. You can disable these at any time in Android Settings.
Internet: required for the AI photo scan, AI summary, and Open Library cover lookup. The app works fully offline once a book is saved.
