## Review summary

Reviewers praise Heptabase’s flexible visual organization and its usefulness for notes, journals, mind maps, and other personal workflows. However, repeated concerns include confusing or unsuccessful Android sign-up, mobile crashes and bugs, and a phone interface that lacks some desktop features or flexibility.

### Pros

- Flexible, visual whiteboarding and note organization make it easy to collect ideas first and connect or structure them later.
- Supports a broad range of personal knowledge workflows, including notes, journaling, mind maps, tags, and to-dos.
- Several reviewers consider it an especially strong knowledge-management or note-taking app, including as a desktop companion.

### Cons

- Multiple new users report being unable to find a sign-up path or complete registration on Android.
- Some reviewers report crashes, freezing, or other mobile bugs, including problems sharing content and displaying images.
- The mobile experience is seen as limited compared with desktop: reviewers want features such as map or full-board views, more usable canvas space, and adjustable text or interface scaling.
