| 2024-09-03 |  | | I was happy with the app but unsubscribed 3 years ago because it is too costly and my chinese had already improved so inwont need much feature. Suddenly just todaybi found that it charged me a yearly subscription a week ago! I did not do this! I was surprised when i saw my bank account get deducted the amount. Someone assist me on this please and i will take back my one star. |

Paid but didn't able to access the Dictionary Plus. Hope your team able to to sort this out soonest possible to avoid any interruption in accessing the app. Thank you |
| 2024-06-26 |  | | I like the way I get to practice listening, speaking, reading and writing at the same time. I only hope there is a better way to prolong the VIP status. Review again on 26 June 2024.....I paid for the full Dictionary Plus annual subscription. After automatic renewal, the handwriting function stopped working and I cannot key in text with chinese handwriting. Uninstalled and reinstalled, cleared cache but it still doesn't work. Please offer a solution. |

It has everything one needs to learn a language; from grammar, vocab to reading, pronunciation guide etc. Though payment for premium subscription is on the higher side and there's no one time purchase for those who don't want to pay subscriptions. |
| 2024-01-02 |  | | Good app for learning pinyin but overall disappointing. Strong points: extra lessons in the first level on Mandarin pronunciation and quizzes that effectively drill you. Weak points: running through too much grammar too quickly without learning any words. Also the video instruction has no rhyme or reason, it is not real immersion and jumps between very simplistic dialogues and random interviews at will. There is barely any attempt at a "story" and it's more of a lame Beijing tourism video. |

It has a speaker icon to play back the words in the lessons to hear pronunciation and a mic to use yourself to say the words. What you say is rated on a % to a perfect 100% pronunciation. The App let's you know how we'll you are doing each time. |
| 2022-09-17 |  | | Excellent all in 1 learning APP. I've been using apps to learn Chinese for over 8 years. This APP is very practical, convenient and all encompassing. It has a dictionary where you can save words, access to other books/ word lists that you can download, links to common dictionary/ writing apps, idioms, live 1:1 tutors at reasonable prices with tailored lessons, practice writing, video lessons, games and speaking practice. It's the APP that I open now. I use another one just for reading. |
| 2022-09-08 |  | | The app is good and useful. Sadly it started to limit the words users can search for free each day (a few only). They'll have to wait for the next day to be allowed using the dictionary for free again. Or if they want to continue using it for the day, they would need to subscribe the Dictionary Plus. I'll resume using my paper Chinese dictionary for now. Anyway, thanks HanBook for your good work. I hope you'll lift this limitation and will allow users to use the dictionary without limits again. |
| 2022-07-09 |  | | Good app, extremely low price for the annual subscription, however please add an option to disable the annoying sound effect that plays after reading a sentence, I will then change the review to 5 stars. Edit: they've changed the sound and now it's much less annoying than before, however, there's still no option to disable it completely, and every time you record your voice, you get a full screen prompt to upgrade to obtain the detailed profile, so in my opinion it's still a 4-star app. |
| 2022-07-05 |  | | Hanbook is an excellent application for Chinese learners. The most useful feature is practicing reading words and sentences and getting an instantaneous score. It has many add ons for different levels, conversations on different topics, as well as idioms, and sentences on words. It is very useful for daily practice. |
