The Ear Gym app is highly praised for its extensive ear training features, user-friendly design, and being free of ads. Users especially appreciate the detailed progress tracking and the ability to customize practice routines. However, common issues include a cramped virtual piano keyboard, occasional sound glitches, bugs in rhythm and scale exercises, and session interruptions when switching apps. Some users also find chord progression exercises have confusing implementations or bugs. Overall, it is regarded as an excellent and comprehensive app for musicians seeking to develop their aural skills.

Cons

If I had had this app in music school, my entire life would have been different. It is absolutely perfect: completely simple and intuitive to use yet has many options, no ads, shows you your stats after every play so you can see your progress and is actually fun. A thousand thumbs up.

Excellent app. Has helped me in my ear training a lot. Easy to use. Many options to choose from. I love that it's free too. But I do need to add bugs I've noticed in the rhythm training section.. If I train with 8th and fitted 8th notes, the app often goes back to the previous "miscellaneous" selection menu. If I use triplets the metronome is out of time. I can even get this bug with simply using quarter notes and triplet notes.
