## Description

Corvus Digital Signage Player turns an Android TV, tablet, or phone into a remotely managed digital signage display.

IMPORTANT: This application requires a Corvus server account. It is the system display, not the entire system. Without a server to link to, it will not play content.

HOW IT WORKS

It is installed on the display, linked with a six-digit code, and from that moment on, it is controlled from the web panel: what is displayed, in which zone, and at what time. The display queries its server every two seconds, so a change on the panel appears on the TV almost immediately, without any physical touch.

WHAT IT CAN DISPLAY

• Full-screen, looping images and video
• Multi-zone layouts: grid, inverted L, half-and-half, vertical totem
• Overlay widgets: clock and date, weather, text banners, QR codes
• Playlists with their own schedule by time slot and day

IT WORKS AUTOMATICALLY

It starts up with the TV and resumes what was playing. If the network goes down, it continues playing the last downloaded content and reconnects when it returns; a screen in a reception area cannot go black because the Wi-Fi failed.

And if someone exits with the remote—to the TV menu or another application—Corvus returns to the content in about 30 seconds. It's designed for a location without anyone to monitor the screen, where an accidental button press would leave it off for the rest of the day. It's controlled with a switch in the device settings: when off, the application behaves like any other.

FOR WHOM IT WORKS

The panel displays the status of each screen—whether it's online, what's being broadcast, and its version—
and allows users to request a preview of what's currently playing, so they can
check a location without leaving their home. The device settings are protected by a PIN,
so no one can access them from the remote control.

WHERE IT'S USED

Receptions and lobbies, shops, restaurants and cafes, waiting rooms and clinics, hotels, trade shows and events, internal communication in offices and factories.

REQUIREMENTS

• Android 7.0 or higher
• A Corvus server account (provided by the system operator)
• Internet connection

PERMISSIONS

During installation, two permissions are requested, only once, and it's helpful to know what they're for:

• Display over other applications. This allows Corvus to return to the foreground: when the TV is turned on, and also if someone exits to the device menu or
to another application. Without it, the screen stops displaying until someone manually opens it. Nothing is drawn over other apps, and the "return to home screen" option can be disabled.

• Location. It places the screen on the operator's map panel and keeps it updated if the device is moved. It's optional: you can decline it, and everything else works the same. It's not used for advertising or shared with third parties.

On some TVs—classic Android TV, set-top boxes, and sticks—Corvus can also be set as the home screen from the device's settings. On Google TVs, this option has no effect: the system doesn't allow changing its menu.
