Companion Buddy is more than just a timer; he is your personal focus partner. Most of us decide to check social media for 5 minutes but end up scrolling for an hour. Buddy lives on your screen to help you realize your habits and stick to the goals you decided. He is the friendly tap on your shoulder when you get lost in distraction.
Whether you are a student aiming for top marks or a professional doing deep work, Buddy helps you spend less time scrolling and more time doing what matters.
How Buddy Helps You:
1.
Select the apps that usually pull you into mindless scrolling.
2.
Decide how much time you want to spend on those platforms.
3.
Start your session!
As you use your selected apps, Buddy appears as a cute floating character. He monitors your session silently, but the moment you cross your decided time, he’ll gently remind you through animations and voice to get back to your goals. If you continue to ignore the warnings, Buddy will insist on a short 2-minute break to help reset your brain and break the distraction loop.
Key Features: • Cute Interactive Animations: Buddy reacts with different expressions to keep you mindful of your time. • Personal Voice Reminders: Hear Buddy encourage you in your own language. • Smart Centering: Warnings appear front and center to snap you out of the scroll-trance. • 100% Private: Buddy works offline. We never read, collect, or share any of your data. • Lightweight & Efficient: Designed to stay with you all day without draining your battery.
Stop the mindless scrolling and start achieving your dreams with your new best friend, Buddy!
--- IMPORTANT DISCLOSURE --- Companion Buddy uses the AccessibilityService API to help you stay productive.
1. Why we use it: Buddy uses this permission to detect which app is currently in the foreground. This allows Buddy to appear on your screen and provide friendly voice and visual reminders only when you are using distracting apps (like social media) that you have chosen to monitor.
2. Your Privacy: We take your privacy 100% seriously. The AccessibilityService API is used only for app detection. We do not read, collect, record, or share any of your screen content, personal data, or private messages. Companion Buddy works completely offline. ## Rankings - #2,172,645 — Overall ## Permissions and access ### Permissions - `android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE` - `android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE` - `android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS` - `android.permission.QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES` - `android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED` - `android.permission.REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS` - `android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW` - `android.permission.WAKE_LOCK` - `com.android.vending.CHECK_LICENSE` - `com.chottu.app.DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION` ## Similar extensions and apps - [PauseBuddy](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.linzhang.pausebuddy) — 27 users - [Time Buddy](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.adhyanrajivgupta.pomodorostudy) — 1,104 users - [ScreenBuddy](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.phax.screenbuddy) — 33 users - [Focus Buddy Interval Timer](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.focusbuddyintervaltimer.app) — 1 users - [Screen Time: Challenge Buddy](https://chrome-stats.com/d/co.sot_buddy) — 48 users - [TimeBuddy](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.sdappworks.timebuddy) — 218 users - [Focus Timer: Focus Buddy](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.focus.buddy.devnytix) — 110 users - [BreakBuddy: Focus & Block Apps](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.crsc.breakbuddy) — 68 users - [Focus Buddy : Study & Break](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.eyecare.app) — 88 users - [Limit Buddy](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.limitbuddy) — 266 users - [Limitly: Screen Time Control](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.enessorucu.Limitly) — 55 users - [Buddy Run](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.arasaco.buddyrun) — 18 users --- Source: [Chrome-Stats](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.chottu.app)
