Biosignal-HomeoRx – Objective Remedy Response Confirmation for Homoeopathic Practitioners

About the App
Biosignal-HomeoRx is a mobile application developed by Dr. Devendra Kumar Munta, MD (Homeo) , a practising homoeopath and former Senior Research Fellow on the collaborative project between Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) and Central Council for Research in Homeopathy (CCRH) . The app translates over a decade of research into a simple, practical tool for daily practice.

The Science Behind It
The app uses your smartphone's built-in accelerometer and gyroscope to measure mechanical heart vibrations (Seismocardiography & Gyrocardiography) and calculate Heart Rate Variability (HRV) before and after remedy administration. This provides an objective indicator of whether the autonomic nervous system has responded to the selected remedy.

Published Research
This work is based on the seminal BARC-CCRH study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine (PMID: 21787219) , which demonstrated that homeopathic remedies produce a 62.5% HRV response versus 16.6% for placebo. Recent 2023-2025 validation studies confirm smartphone sensors now achieve ±5.22ms accuracy compared to medical-grade ECG.

My Journey – Research Since BHMS Days
My interest in objective measurement in homeopathy did not begin with CCRH. Since my BHMS student days, I have been fascinated by how homeopathic medicines create measurable changes in the body. I began experimenting with temperature variability analysis – observing how body temperature patterns shift in response to remedies. This early curiosity shaped everything that followed.

How to Use the App

Select your remedy classically (based on totality of symptoms)

Place phone on sternum (chest) in lying down position

Measure HRV for 2-5 minutes before administering remedy

Administer the selected homeopathic remedy

Measure again after 15-30 minutes

Compare the readings – a positive shift in HRV suggests physiological response

About the Developer
Dr. Devendra Kumar Munta, MD (Homeo) is a practising homoeopath with 120+ patients daily. He is an alumnus of Dr. Gururaju Government Homeopathic Medical College and JSPS Homeopathic Medical College, Hyderabad. He served as Senior Research Fellow on the BARC-CCRH collaborative project and is a co-author of the landmark study PMID: 21787219.

His research journey began during his BHMS days with temperature variability studies and continues today with the Biosignal-HomeoRx app.
