## Description

During an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, it&#39;s not unusual for there to be more jobs than there are people to do them. And that&#39;s where the Pulse Check Timer comes in handy. It helps with two roles, those of timer and scribe, which are typically deemphasized in favor of more high-yield interventions.<br><br>American Heart Association guidelines recommend pulse checks and heart rhythm checks every 2 minutes. And the best practice in cardiac arrests is to pre-charge the monitor 15 seconds before the pulse check.<br><br>When you click the Start Timer button, a countdown to 1 minute and 45 seconds begins. At this time, the app will announce to the crew to charge the monitor. At 2 minutes, it will announce to check for a pulse. It will also give you the option to record the heart rhythm you observed at the pulse check.<br>The time of the pulse checks and the heart rhythms are recorded in an event log. <br><br>After the call, when you have finished using the event log for your documentation, you can delete it.
