DORS

DORS (Digital Overdose Response System) is a vital app designed for residents of Alberta to improve safety for those using opioids or other substances alone. By enabling continuous monitoring with a countdown timer, it can summon emergency medical services if a user becomes unresponsive, drastically reducing overdose fatalities at private residences.

Beyond emergency response, DORS offers access to national and provincial addiction recovery resources, including the Addiction Helpline, supporting users on their journey to recovery. The app prioritizes user privacy, collecting only essential location data to ensure prompt emergency assistance, with all data securely held within Canada. Developed in collaboration with Alberta Health, DORS is a critical tool to enhance overdose safety in Alberta and is not functional outside this region.
