PERMISSIONS

Usage Access lets Beave measure your screen time and see which app is
open, so your rules and limits can be enforced. Display-over-other-apps
shows the block screen on top of a blocked app.

ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE

Beave uses the Android AccessibilityService API to power Anti-doomscrolling,
and for nothing else.

What it does: it counts how far you scroll inside the apps you choose, so
Beave can tell when a scrolling session has run long and offer you a break.

What it does not do: Beave does not read the content of your screen. The
service is registered with canRetrieveWindowContent set to false. No screen
content and no personal data is collected or transmitted, and your scroll
measurements stay on your device.

Anti-doomscrolling is optional and off until you turn it on. Beave shows a
disclosure and asks for your explicit consent before the permission is
requested, and you can switch the service off at any time in Android
Settings, under Accessibility.
