Most idle games estimate. Aethel Idle replays the time you were away tick by tick, up to 8 hours per absence, running the same actions and rolling the same drop tables you would have watching. That is AFK progress with a mechanism behind it. No stamina, no daily streak to protect.

21 SKILLS THAT FEED EACH OTHER
Thirteen crafts of hand and hearth: Woodcutting, Mining, Fishing, Firemaking, Cooking, Smithing, Crafting, Fletching, Runecrafting, Farming, Thieving, Apothecary brewing and Alt Magic. Six arts of battle: Attack, Strength, Defence, Hitpoints, Ranged and Magic. Two for the hunt and the divine: Monster Hunting and Devotion. Every skill has its own screen, its own recipes and its own mastery to deepen, and they connect: the ore you mine becomes the bar you smelt becomes the sword you fight with. This is skilling, not tapping. Start an action, go and live your life, come back to the result.

FIGHT WITH MELEE, RANGED OR MAGIC
All three have a full gear ladder, and enemies have weaknesses worth exploiting. Save loadouts, then unlock an auto-swapper that puts the right set on for you. Raise an altar and earn Devotion for blessings that turn a losing fight around.

A WORLD WITH SOMETHING IN IT
16 open regions, 20 dungeons and 12 hunting grounds, from a quiet overgrown common to places that have gone very wrong. A bestiary of 240 creatures to learn and kill. 65 quests that tell a story about what happened to this world instead of handing you a checklist.

AN ECONOMY RUN BY PLAYERS
The Aethel Exchange is a real player market, open to everyone. Post an offer to buy or sell at a price you choose and the ledger pairs it against other players' offers, best price first. Your offers keep working while you are away, and anything that fills lands in your collection box.

Found or join a clan, chat with your members, design an emblem. Add friends and message them privately. Climb the hiscores, compare any skill against every player, then open a profile to see how they got there. Or ignore all of it: nothing here needs another person.

No adverts anywhere: no banners, no interstitials, no rewarded videos. Crowns, the premium currency, buy cosmetics - titles, avatars, name colours, UI themes and pets - plus character slots, bank space and conveniences like auto-sell and extra offline hours.
