With AC-Tracker, you can prepare maps before leaving, track your location, record your route, and view useful information directly on the screen, even offline.

And it has an ace up its sleeve: terrain data.

TERRAIN DATA (DEM)

In addition to maps, AC-Tracker downloads digital terrain models (DEMs) of the area you're interested in: files containing point-by-point ground elevations. The app only offers those that cover the active map, and once on your phone, they work offline.

• A stable elevation
A phone's GPS elevation can vary by several meters from one moment to the next and is often referenced to a mathematical model of the Earth rather than sea level. The DEM elevation depends only on your location: it remains constant and is referenced to sea level, like the elevations on signs and maps. You'll find it next to the GPS elevation, on the map, and in the compass.

• More reliable elevation gain
During recording, elevation gain and loss are calculated based on the terrain elevation, and based on the GPS elevation only where DEM data is missing. False ups and downs due to signal fluctuations are filtered out.

• Profile and elevation gain even for tracks without elevations
Do you have a GPX without elevations, for example, drawn with a route planner? With the DEM data of the area, AC-Tracker extracts elevations from the terrain and still displays the elevation profile and elevation gain.

• Relief on the map
Terrain shading highlights mountains, valleys, and slopes, making the map readable at a glance.

• Offline maps
Download maps from the integrated catalog and use them even without an internet connection.

• Offline location search
Search for cities, towns, villages, and other places on the displayed map. The results show the name, type, and coordinates; selecting one centers the map on the selected location.

• Recording GPX tracks
Record your route by checking distance, time, elevation gain and loss, location, and coordinates. Once finished, name the track and save it in GPX format.

• Track management
Open, import, rename, share, export, or delete GPX tracks. You can show a saved track on the map and hide it without removing it from your device.

• Elevation profile
Scroll through the route graph and locate the point on the map corresponding to an ascent, descent, or a specific elevation.

• Location and sensors
Latitude and longitude, GPS elevation, DEM elevation, and atmospheric pressure, if your device has a barometric sensor.

• Compass
Heading in degrees and cardinal point, with available coordinates and elevations.

• Photos associated with the route
Take photos from the app with location and elevation. While recording, the images remain linked to the points on the GPX track.

Download maps and terrain data in advance, especially before traveling in areas with limited network coverage.
Maps and associated data can be large. Downloading via mobile data uses your plan's data and may incur charges from your carrier. Unlimited Wi-Fi is recommended for larger files.

AC-Tracker is not intended for emergencies or critical safety. Maps, GPS location, elevation, and other data may be inaccurate, incomplete, or temporarily unavailable. The DEM elevation is also an estimate of the terrain and may differ from the actual elevation in some places.
