## Description

**Clear New Tab** removes clutter from Firefox’s new tab page while preserving your theme background—or replacing it with a custom image, GIF, video, or solid color. Upload backgrounds, paste an image or image link, cycle through different backgrounds, generate a random color for each new tab, or schedule specific backgrounds for chosen dates and times.

Adjust background sizing and surrounding colors to prevent flashes and ensure a proper fit. The add-on uses the address bar for web searches and offers custom HTML link support. Clear New Tab is open source on GitHub and may display affiliate links on its settings page. User data is stored in IndexedDB and may be removed by Firefox when storage space is limited.
