With Cleantainer, you can use some of your container tabs for disposable “forget about me” browsing and others for your persistent identities and logins. Cleantainer provides the fastest “clean my container” flow of any extension: Just open the popup, then double-click the container you want to clean—no need for complex configuration options or blocklists. Advanced users can pin and reorder frequently cleaned containers and define custom keyboard shortcuts. Cleantainer also supports the builtin “no” container and the container used for Private Browsing windows. Cleantainer deletes cookies, localStorage, IndexedDB, and (from Firefox 146) sessionStorage. In general, cleaning a container will never be as effective as deleting and recreating it—or using the browser’s native browsing data cleaner—but this technique is still effective enough to defeat most forms of identity tracking, such as YouTube recommendations.
