     as failing to read proxy status, a failed switch, or a missing PAC URL.</li><li>Private-window protection: before running in private windows, the
     extension verifies its permission and, if not granted, shows actionable
     guidance (about:addons → set "Run in Private Windows" to "Allow").</li></ul>
