Do Pasto ao Prato is a 100% independent initiative with the aim of increasing transparency in the livestock sector and supporting conscious consumption in Brazil. Use the app to verify the origin - and impact - of meat sold in your region.

Livestock is responsible for most of the deforestation in Brazil and is often associated with uncontrolled fires that often affect preserved natural environments. In addition, the sector still appears as one of the leaders in the occurrence of work analogous to slavery in the production areas. In the slaughter and processing units, not only cases of non-compliance with sanitary rules are observed, but also cases of mistreatment of animals before the moment of slaughter.

For this, after entering the codes on the product packaging, the application provides information about the slaughterhouse where the meat was processed, as well as other indicators associated with the production process.

This information is calculated from detailed data on fines, assessments and geospatial data on deforestation and fires in the purchase zone of each slaughterhouse. Sources are described in the methodological document, including:
