I've used an extension to download CRX files for years - mostly to save themes. None of them were able to save the ones Microsoft made for Edge, until now! I found that if I pinned this extension to my toolbar, loaded the theme page then clicked on the extension's icon it would let me download the CRX files that way. Being able to just right-click-download an extension link would be easier but this works well enough.
